In this episode of the Hello Hello Podcast, Alyssa Rogers visits a hidden gem in South Boston, Virginia—Good Hope Equestrian Farm—to meet founder and executive director Peg Bass.
Peg shares the incredible journey that brought her nonprofit from South Florida to Halifax County and how her passion for horses has transformed lives for more than 25 years. At Good Hope, therapeutic horsemanship programs serve children, adults, and veterans, helping individuals with conditions such as autism, cerebral palsy, PTSD, and emotional challenges experience healing through the unique connection with horses.
During the tour, Alyssa meets the beloved horses and ponies who make the program possible and learns how the farm also supports the community through regenerative agriculture education, volunteer opportunities, and outreach across five counties.
Peg also shares how the community can get involved—including volunteering or attending their upcoming Run for the Roses Kentucky Derby–themed fundraiser.
If you’ve ever wondered about the powerful bond between humans and horses, this inspiring conversation will show you how one farm is changing lives every single day.
